Hollow Lantern
★★★★★ 4.5
Hollow Lantern is a quiet adventure game about wandering through a dark, overgrown world carrying a lantern that reveals hidden paths. There's light puzzle-solving, a little platforming, and a lot of atmosphere. It's the sort of game you play with headphones on, late at night.
The story is told almost entirely through environment and small notes you find, which I loved. Nothing is spelled out, and the sense of slowly understanding the place is the whole point. Controls are simple, just move and interact, so the focus stays on exploring.
It's short, maybe four or five hours, but it doesn't overstay its welcome. If you want mood over mechanics, this one lingers after you finish it.
